Game: Tues 24th 2100-2200, please get there in good time to kick-off on time if poss. I'd leave yourself about 25-35 mins from the centre of town (Sol) to get there by metro and a quick cab at the other end.

Venue: Polideportivo Municipal de Orcasitas - (Orcasitas Municipal Sports Centre) It's in Avenida de Rafaela Ybarra s/n (sin numero, no number) on the corner with Calle de Ricardo Beltrán y Rozpide. Map: http://tinyurl.com/bhrdy7

Nearest metro is "San Fermin – Orcasur" on southern part of Line 3 (yellow, runs through Sol in the very centre) where apparently there are lots of taxis as there's a taxi depot there. From there it wouldl take 15-20 minutes to walk to the football pitch, up one only road, Avenida de los Poblados. Another option is to get off one stop earlier at "Hospital 12 Octubre" and get a cab from the taxi rank in front of the hospital. 5 mins; 5 Euros.

After the match, we could go back to the The Red Corner at Calle de Bolivar 24; map: http://tinyurl.com/bwx56m or back to the Triskel Tavern, calle San Vincente Ferrer 3 (Tribunal Metro) map: http://tinyurl.com/6xs2fj or, ideally, both (Red Corner first). We'll take a vote on the night.

***If you want to play, or know any Real Madrid fans that want to play, please let us know.

*The Ray of Hope Appeal was launched on 21st January 2008. It was the aim of the trustees to raise enough funds to purchase essential equipment and services for Ray Kennedy who is struggling with Parkinson's Disease. Ray's illness has deprived him not only of his health but of his livelihood. He was robbed of the chance to make a living through the media or coaching - a shame given that he has won everything in the game and would assumedly know more than a few people who occupy those roles today.

+More info on Harry:
  • Supported Liverpool all my life.
  • Went to A&B games with my dad when I was a kid.
  • Saw my first Anfield match in 1960 but can't remember who, may have been Leyton Orient.
  • Home and away with my dad during the 60's.
  • Played against LFC Res for New Brighton in 1971 - Keegan's last game in ressies before flying out to Germany to join up with first team. Team had Yeats Thompson Keegan Evans Whitham and we won 2-1.
  • Drove the team on a number of occasions to Melwood from Anfield for training. That was the time I remember Ray for being an absolute gent. Some of the players were prima donna material esp KK but Ray always had a word with the driver. Felt by other drivers who drove them on occasions.
  • Have played competitively till last March when a back injury from work was aggravated aginst Northwich Vics.
  • Was part of the supporters league double winners last season.
  • Am sad that Ray was affected by Parkinson's and especially so as he contracted it during his playing days.
  • As a sports person to have my playing days curtailed at 60 is irritating to me, but nothing in comparison to having ones life incapacitated at such an early age as happened to Ray, which is beyond my comprehension. My sympathies are with Ray.
  • Cycling is all I can muster physically these days and if I can do that for the benefit of Ray I will, although I am still hoping to complete the whole journey under motorised power.

No son hooligans, son supporters

After 20minutos ridiculous article about 6000 Liverpool "hooligans" coming to Madrid (complete with misleading photo), here is MADrid REDS secretary Amador's response:

ZONA20Carta de Madrid

No son hooligans, son supporters

AMADOR MORENO. 16.02.2009
